COST TO MOVE THE SHIPPEY HOUSE AND BUILD A NEW FOUNDATION

…Relocation of the house to Himmarshee Village (see attached email proposal from Modern Movers for details) – $18,000.00.
This bid does not include Law Enforcement Escorts, Utility Escorts or tree trimming or removal.
The bid for the construction of the new pier-type foundation for the main house is $7,000.00. Construction for new pier-type foundation for front and back porches is $7,000.
Total = $32,000
This bid does include engineered foundation plans and permits. It also includes relocating the Cooley’s Landing Marker to the adjacent swale in front of the marina parking lot along 7th Avenue.
This bid does not include any impact fees or other developmental fees
ESTIMATES FOR SHIPPEY HOUSE RENOVATION/RESTORATION:
Below are costs provided by a general contractor, New World Builders. These estimates are to be used for purposes of roughly defining the financial scope of the project. Fundraising will focus on direct monetary donations and companies who can provide the required work as an ‘in-kind’ donation. For tax purposes donations can be accepted by The Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale Trust as it is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
The estimates are guidelines for completely securing the structure, bringing in all utilities to code and restoring the appearance of the exterior of the house and surrounding grounds.
This estimate does not include interior work such as drywall repair, light fixtures, additional plumbing, etc.
Roof – $20,000 including decking
Electric -$18,000 including power panel, burying the line and porch pre-wire
Plumbing – $5,000 – sewer lateral only
Windows – $28,000 repair/replace with historically accurate hurricane glass
Structural repair, contingency fund -$10,000
Front and back porches (total reconstruction) – $47,000 lumber and carpentry
Exterior Painting – $30,000 including sanding and prep and waterproofing
Landscaping – Parks and Rec, and Sailboat Bend Green Team
Total = $158,000 – (does not include General Contractor’s fee of 20%, if needed)
